Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm not a heart-on-your-sleeve kind of person, so this is possibly something you don't know about me. I don't have any children of my own, not through choice, but because I never achieved a full term pregnancy. I personally coped with my loses by running - a more socially acceptable form of crying - and I'm okay. Lots of women, more than you could ever imagine, go through the same heartbreak without that outlet and my chosen charity is there to provide support for them in all sorts of ways.
One of the best things they do is hold services in beautiful, big, impressive cathedrals to give our little ones the send-off they deserve and commemorate their lives, no matter how short. I attended a service at York Minster about 5 years after my last miscarriage and while it was emotional, it was beautiful and comforting and felt very special.
So this is why I am putting myself through an Iron distance tri; doing something that helped me cope in order to help others cope. Coming into the toughest training weeks, it seems like the right time to put this out and ask for donations to this wonderful charity and help keep me motivated. Especially in the scary swan-poo-infested lake!!
