Story
The Bethlehem "Right to Movement" marathon and half marathon were started in 2012 to bring attention to the fact that Palestinians living there can't run more than 13 miles without going through a checkpoint. Amos Trust has sent a team to participate in the event every year since it began.
I've been involved with Amos Trust since 2007. Shortly after I first moved to London, they hired me to do some transcription which became the book Bethlehem Speaks (http://amostrust.org/shop/products/bethlehem-speaks/). It has remained an organisation near and dear to my heart, and I am continually impressed by the work they are doing in India, South Africa, Burundi, Nicaragua, and especially Palestine.
In addition to running the half marathon, I and the other runners will be visiting some of the projects that Amos Trust supports in Jerusalem, Hebron and other parts of Israel and Palestine. This will be my first visit to the Holy Land, and I'm very proud and excited to be part of the Amos Trust team!
