Story
In memory of our beautiful baby girl Alissa Willow Primrose born sleeping on the 4th May 2014.
A moment in our lives, forever in our hearts.
During the hours of labour followed by the precious time we and other members of the family spent with Alissa, the midwives at Kingston Hospital could not have shown more compassion and empathy. But the many sounds from the busy maternity ward around us came through and the midwives could do nothing about that.
This is why we have decided to ask for donations towards the bereavement suite, which is being built at Kingston Hospital. The suite will provide a dedicated area for a birth away from the normal delivery suites and will include facilities for the family to visit.
We wish this would never happen to anyone else but, as even after many tests Alissa's death is unexplained, sadly we know we will not be the last. If we can contribute to a comfortable facility which will remove one source of pain during that terrible time - having to listen to the cry of a newborn baby while you know you will never hear your own - that would be a small comfort to us.
Thank you so much in advance.
James and Karina xx
