Story
Hi All,
Thanks for clicking on this page. As you may be aware, I started a homeless project called 'Oasis' at the Salvation Army in Barking. Each weekday we provided free meals to approximately 50 homeless men and women, as well as showers and whatever clothes donated to us.
This project relies on donations. No one contributing to it is monetarily recompensed in any way - I myself am employed by the Salvation Army and to help me run it I supervise a superb team of volunteers.
So here's the crux. In the week the volunteers and I constantly discuss what we have in stock and what might become available to cook and prepare for the people who rely on us. My dream is that by raising money for this challenge and hopefully awareness of the issue, perhaps we can guarantee those meals and even extend our remit to being able to provide sleeping bags, food parcels (often for families) and warm clothes on a more consistent basis.
Everytime someone comes to our building, we want to give them the world. But resources are limited. If me walking all day every day knackered, blistered and smelling for 2 months can help then let's have it!
My aim is to walk from one end of the UK to the other (over 1000 miles, probably more given I failed Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award) in 2 months. It's almost a marathon of walking a day.
All money raised on This page will go to the project. That is a guarantee. I will set up another page just in case anyone is up for helping me with the gear and all that but that will Not be from this page.
If you can give anything, I and I promise you a lot of people will be eternally grateful.
Thanks for reading,
With Love,
Karl Schultz
