On the 15th October 2016 we shall be yet again taking part in this gruelling half marathon. The first 5ish miles are along the tracks through the forest then comes the first swamp. At this point you realise 'what am I doing' ! Chest high in thick, foul smelling mud, forming a human chain to get across, this is when it becomes scary and becomes mind over matter. Continuing for the remainder of the run (approx 8 miles) wet and cold, facing hills, swamps, neck high water whilst battling branches and tree trunks underfoot, this run becomes a battle of the mind not just the body. 

This is why, to be able to run and raise money for a charity whilst taking part is so important. I have chosen this charity because whilst in the search for a new dog, I came across Romanian Rescue Appeal UK. 

Some of these dogs, through no fault of their own, suffer terrible conditions, unimaginable to most and they deserve help too just like any other dogs in the world.
