Story

Since 1 March 2010, I have danced (I estimate) 452 days in all weathers.  This activity has not just made me exceptionally happy, it has brought great joy to thousands of people. People now term me 'The Broomielaw Dancing Queen', 'Glasgow's Morning Dancer', and 'The Princess of the Clyde'.  Even the Scottish Parliament commended me for my contribution to dance and peacemaking in honour of UNESCO World Dance Day in 2010.

In July I made the decision to leave Glasgow, after 12 years of life here to continue my dancing adventures in Argentina where I will also write my book "Hope Dances" (http://hopedances.wordpress.com/about/).

As a final positive act on this soil I'd like to raise £10 for every day I've danced on the Broomielaw and around to go to a very wonderful charity, the Starr Trust, whose aim is to fund projects 'that makes children smile'.  I have personal experience with this charity having been supported by them when I was doing dance work with orphans and refugee children in Sri Lanka. (http://vimeo.com/13351969)

Much of their work is creatively and educationally based and I know every penny is used to positive purpose and indeed creates MANY smiles.  And let's be honest, we need more of THAT in the world!

If you have been inspired by my dancing, spread the joy by funding an organization that brings joy to others nationally and internationally!

On the 27 November I will be hosting my final going away BASH - where there will be an open mic entertainment as well as some surprises to.

The event will take place at Cafe Hula, 321 Hope St., in Glasgow, and we will premiere the 'Scotland Dances' Film by Benoit Moulanier, as well as launching an exhibition of photographs by Chris McNulty of my dancing.

THANKING YOU!

Best wishes peace and love, Kate E.
