This year, I again walk in honor of my daughter , who is doing extremely well after her stint with brain tumors. It was during Liz's illness that I realized that it's not only the new medical treatments that brings healing, but it is also the seemingly small things that are restorative! During her hospital stay, simple things like; having a comfortable bed, a futon for a parent to sleep in her room, access to computers, movies, toys and books, that gave her (and the other children) a sense of normalcy during a very dark time.
Having been the recipient of generous support while Liz was ill, I am personally moved by the work that is done through the CKDCF's contribution to children and families of Cumbria as they go through a rough time. To have emotional and financial solace during a dark time is an amazing godsend! The healing impact it has is profound and cannot be adequately expressed!
The CKDCF's advocacy for the children of Cumbria is extensive and diverse and I am honored to participate in their fundraising efforts so the goodness continues to flow!
BTW, Liz is presently going for her Master's in Non-Profit Leadership at Cabrini College, Radnor, PA…YAY LIZ!!!
