Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know both Sara and I have spent the last year getting pretty fit, spending our spare time in the gym and doing crazy fitness programmes.  So we got talking and decided to do a year of crazy fitness events to give something back, and as The Hospice at Home cared for my Dad during his illness we decided to raise money in his memory.

The story begins when I decided to enter a charity event in memory of my Dad, I found a half marathon at Silverstone race track and as my Dad was car crazy (the fact we found half a mini in the loft after he died says a lot - and noone knows how it got there!) so it seemed the perfect event.  Me not being a runner I suddenly had a panic, so Sara said she would run with me.  But we were not content with just one run so we decided to enter Total Warrior, a 10km extreme assult course, then follwed wanting to enter The Great North Run, closely followed by The Great North Swim and then the Great North 10k and the Cross Border Challenge.  We will be adding in a few other crazy events, such as 1000 burpee challenge if we get to £1000.  Thankfully Sara and I have lots of other crazy friends to help us out along the way ... so as a team we are aiming to raise as much as possible for a great cause, get as fit and strong as we can be and most of all HAVE FUN!!!!

Thank-you for looking through our page, and please give as generously as you can.  Every little donation counts no matter how small.  I had always known about Hospice at Home, but I did't know that all the services are offered FREE of charge, that it is completly seperate to the Hospice and that they get only 15% of funds from the NHS and Government funds.  I also never knew that my familiy would need to use the services, and definately not when my Dad was only 61.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
