Story

The last time I actively raised money for charity was in 1996 and as you can see the 90's were not kind to me or my hair and I'm thankful to say that over the years I've developed a waist and stopped wearing my brothers clothes.

Fast forward 20 years and this year I will run/walk and crawl the London Marathon. I've always debated it; mainly to commit myself into drinking less and exercising more but always confident in the knowledge that my chances of getting in were very slim.

Last year I attended the city of London Police Child Victims of Crime charity fund raiser dinner for work. I had a few too many wines and thought it was a wise move to place a bid in the silent auction for a place in the Marathon. Plenty more wine later I was approached by a host to congratulate me on winning my bid. Cue more wine....

Through my bonded space I don't have to raise any further funds however me running 26.2 miles (when last year I couldn't run the JP Morgan 5.6k without dying) seems like a great opportunity to further help Embrace whose objective is "to relieve poverty, sickness, trauma and distress arising from children resident in the UK who have suffered as a result of any criminal offence.  Embrace prompt children’s education, health and welfare, encourage their social inclusion and community involvement and seek to develop their personal safety.”

I know everyone is approached this time of year for sponsorship but based on my history it'll be 2036 before I ask again. I and Embrace will be super grateful for anything that you can donate.

If you're not able to sponsor then please support by coming along on the 24th April to help me get round; I'll need all the help I can get...
