I’m really excited to tell you that I have been selected to volunteer overseas with Balloon Ventures on an International Citizen Service placement. 

ICS works with communities in developing countries such as Kenya, Uganda and Ghana. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development. 

In September, I will travel to Iganga, in Uganda for 3 months, to help local entrepreneurs launch their business ideas, creating jobs and helping to improve lives and fight poverty. To find out more about Balloon Ventures' amazing work, check out their website: http://www.balloonics.org/.

My challenge now is that I need to raise £1,500 in order to take part. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending young volunteers to the
developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.

Amongst other things, I’ll be:

- Organising regular bake sales in my local town. 

- Organising a charity golf competition.

- Doing odd jobs.
