Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Three years ago (2013) I was facing a big operation. I was really disappointed that I couldn't run the first Cheltenham Half marathon. Once I was better, I made a promise to run the Cheltenham Half marathon every year as long as I was well. I ran it in 2014 and was all prepared to run it again in 2015, when just three weeks before the race, my husband Jon was diagnosed with cancer. For a while I couldn't see how I could run it, but he had a successful operation and was out of hospital before race day. We drove past the marquee and the race preparations and he saw my disappointed face. He insisted I still run it! I am looking forward to running it again this year with him being there to cheer me on.

Since May 20th, I made a plan to walk and run 500km over the summer finishing with the half marathon on September 25th with one rule; it had to be outside soaking in the country air! Now that I'm nearly 300km into it, I feel fitter, but more importantly much happier.

I'm running for the Gloucestershire wildlife trust. I love our countryside and being amongst it is very important to my family. The wildlife trusts do so much and I would like to do what I can to help them continue in their work.
