Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, why would a busy mum of two and full-time primary teacher want to travel up to Fife and throw herself out of a plane?
Well, the thing is , I should really be a mum of three.
In Sept 2011, my husband Gavin, and I experienced the devastating loss of our much longed for 3rd baby at 20 wks into the pregnancy. I was induced and gave birth to him. His name was Daniel. He had his brother's wee chin and his sister's blue eyes. He was beautiful and precious but our first cuddles were also to be our only cuddles and we had to say goodbye.
We were lucky to have wonderful supportive family, but as time passed after the funeral we were faced with the challenge of "getting back to normal".
That's when thankfully I discovered Saying Goodbye and realised I was not alone in this journey. They are on hand to offer comfort , support or simply a listening ear when needed. They have experienced the pain of baby loss and truly empathise.
The charity strives to break the taboo of talking about our lost babies, and seeks to inform and educate, hopefully to improve outcomes for pregnant women and care for bereaved parents. They also organise large scale memorial events in beautiful cathedrals all around the country to give families the opportunity to acknlowledge and honour their babies- a huge step towards healing.
On February the 15th and 16th, 254 people will make a ‘Jump for Love’.
Each person will be representing 1000 babies who were lost through stillbirth and miscarriage (254,000 babies are lost each year in the UK). So as we fall, we will raise them up #AlwaysRemembered #EveryBabyMatters – So we are not only fundraising to raise crucial funds to keep the charity going, we are also making history, by helping with this epic campaign to break the taboo of talking about loss.
I will be undertaking a tandem skydive from 10,000 ft! No mean feat for a girl who was nervous in the open top bus in London!
For me to able to complete my jump, I need to raise my minimum target of £450. Unfortunately if I don’t raise this, I can’t undertake the jump. This is why every donation is so important to me. If I am unable to raise that sum, any sponsorship paid, will be classed as a donation to Saying Goodbye”
Ideally, however, I would love to raise £1000. £1 for each little life I am representing.
I am jumping for Saying Goodbye.
I am jumping for Daniel.
I am jumping for love.
Please support me in my cause, Any amount will be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks, K xxx
