Last year I had the most amazing time with the Wales Millennium Centre Only Kids Aloud chorus.  We performed Mahler's 8th Symphony with the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev then recorded a track and a video for the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.  The track appeared on the official CD and reached number 2 in the classical download chart!  We then performed at the Cardiff Paralympic Flame Festival where Joe McElderry was our warm up act!  We finished the year with a Christmas tour with Only Men Aloud and Only Boys Aloud.

Auditions for this year's choir took place in April and May and I was lucky enough to get in again!  We got together for the first time at the end of August in Cardiff where we received a very special message.

Cape Town Opera in South Africa invited us to perform with them in South Africa next year to help celebrate 20 years since the end of Apartheid.

We have got a lot of rehearsing to do between now and 29th April 2014 (which is when we go) but we have also each been set the challenge of trying to raise the equivalent of our air fare over there which is £850.

If we can get up there before the weather takes a turn for the worse (and the cafe closes for the winter) I am going to try and get some of the choir to walk up Snowdon.  Snowdon is 2 metres taller than Table Mountain in Cape Town so I think of it as getting acclimatised.

I have already sang a few songs to some local groups including the Llys y Coed Bingo group and Help the Aged who have been kind enough to donate.

I am going to sell some of my old clothes and toys at car boot sales and I am hoping to make and sell jewellery too.
