Story

This year in the memory of Sarah Jones, The Peaky Blinders are back for the Challenge of 2016 and will be supporting the Society of Parents of Children with Cancer SPOCC www.spocc.org.uk

Its a society that in itself helped to support Fergus Scholefield the Son of a Friend and fellow Rugby Player from Harborne RFC who lost his Brave Battle with Cancer following discovered of a tumour on his brain. Fergus's journey and battle will serve as an inspiration to all. Therefore to help, the Peaky Blinders will be Walking 42 Km in 12 hours along part of the Grand Union Canal on Saturday 08th October 2016. We are Stephen Jones (Beefy) Allan Beavon (Shakey) Mark Dempsey (Fish) Hon Sec (Bolts) Barry Finlayson (Sat Nav) Cal Reynolds (BA) Martin Brennan (Bear) and Keith Barbier (Barbs)

SPoCC offers support to children treated at Birmingham Children's Hospital suffering with cancer; and their families. This includes - regular outings & days out; peer support for newly diagnosed families; a refreshment area in clinic manned by members; a mini-bus to help out with transport problems and flowers for bereaved families.
