Story

Jane and I were deeply touched, when our son Matthew died two years ago, by people’s generous contributions towards helping Butterfly Conservation with the purchase of Rough Bank in Gloucestershire.

The site has now been secured and was officially opened last month (http://butterfly-conservation.org/48-6596/blue-is-the-colour-at-flagship-butterfly-reserve.html).

I’m running the York marathon on 12th October in Matthew’s memory and to raise funds to help with the upkeep and management of the site including the planting of a memorial hedge along the northern boundary.  It is hoped that Rough Bank will one day be suitable for reintroducing the globally endangered large blue butterfly.
