Story
Hi
My name is Kelly and I am 10 years old. I love to sing and I auditioned for 'Only kids Aloud' choir in 2013 which is a choir made up of 70 children from all over Wales aged between 9 and 13 and is supported by the Wales Millenium centre charity .They held auditions all over Wales and I was thrilled to be chosen. Our mentor is Tim Rhys- Evans ( you may have seen him on the Telly as he was 3rd with Only Boys Aloud in Britains Got Talent in 2012 ). We then had 3 days of rehearsals and 2 nights sleepover in Cardiff which was exciting, no mum and dad - yippee ! On the last day of rehearsals we went into a room where there were loads of film crews and stuff and we sat and watched a video from South Africa and you would never guess what happened next !
The man on the screen was from the Cape Town Opera and he invited us to sing in Cape Town South Africa for a historic performance in a celebration of 20 years of democracy in South Africa. You should have seen our faces- yippee what anopportunity - cool! We are going next May ( I also get 4 days off school ! Thank goodness my Headteacher has agreed to let me go)! The Wales Millenium Centre has set a challenge for us to raise funds towards the project so I am busy making cakes to sell in my schoolbreak.
I am also selling my old toys and christmas carol singing at the Celtic Manor resort and various other things. I have attached a video to my page and if you like my singing please donate.
Rehearsals are hard work, but I love it, as singing is my passion. I will update any further news with OKA.
By supporting the Wales Millenium Centre, you will be raising money for young children to achieve their dream and spread their talent through music, which without this charity, may not be achieved as it helps all children of all backrounds.
