Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Kevin Robinson and Andy Brown of Cardiff Construction Training Centre (CCTC) are attempting a 56 mile yomp (walk) from Brecon to CCTC, Dumballs Road, Cardiff Bay starting 26 May 2012. The pair will sleep out along the way and carry all their equipment for the 3 days needed to complete the route. Their aim is to walk the complete Taff Trail plus an extra mile.
The 'yomp' is to honour the veterans and the fallen of the Falkland Islands conflict of 1982.
CCTC has worked closely with the South Atlantic Medal Association (SAMA 82 [Wales]) for many years; this charity is dedicated to working with the veterans of the conflict.
Kevin and Andy are attempting to raise sufficient funds to be able to help send a veteran to the Islands to commemorate the 30th anniversary.
The walk is in recognition of the British Forces who disembarked from ships at San Carlos on May 21st 1982, then yomped 56 miles to Port Stanley in 3 days.
