Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Please make a donation to help the ACLT charity educate more people about leukaemia and sign up at least 2,400 potential lifesaving donors on to the UK bone marrow registers (that's 100 for every year of my life).

My story
I'm 24 and was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in April 2012. I've received intensive chemotherapy and other very aggressive treatments that wasn't enough to beat my blood cancer.
I was told that I needed a matching bone marrow donor to beat the cancer. After their worldwide search of volunteer donor registries and donor appeals set up by ACLT charity a match could not be found. You can imagine how devastating this news was for me, my family and friends. Doctors decided my only chance was to have a ‘50% matched' transplant donation from my younger brother.
On Friday 9th May 2014 doctors informed me that the leukaemia was back, there was nothing more they can do and that I have 2 weeks to live.
My final wish
With the time I have left I want to make people realise that they can BE the difference.
The fight for life must continue and I have ONE simple wish... for people to support the life saving work of the ACLT charity which works very hard to encourage Black, Asian, mixed race and other ethnic minority communities to join the bone marrow registers, to give other people diagnosed with blood cancers and illnesses a fighting chance to save their life.
We are blessed with UK donor registries, yet there is still a massive shortage of potential bone marrow donors of all races, but especially people of black, mixed race and ethnic minority heritage. ACLT charity works extensively to register more potential donors to give the gift of life.
My
battle to beat leukaemia can’t be won, but with the support of everyday selfless
individuals like you in our communities, other patients in need of donors can
survive. Me and my family are grateful for the support we receive from ACLT charity.
I'm encouraging people to give a financial gift to support my
fundraising appeal and ask as many people as possible to get involved, share and follow to help find more lifesaving donors.
Thank You. Kevin Kararwa
