Story
I am a Vascular Surgeon in Cambridge and Secretary of the National Vascular Society. My career has been spent helping people with Vascular disease. This is blocked, furred up arteries, or worn out dilated arteries and veins. Many people have not heard of vascular disease, more familiar with heart attacks. However, blocked and worn out arteries cause major problems, and are a threat to life and limb.
Through our charity the Circulation Foundation, we want to raise the awareness of Vascular Disease, promote healthier living, try to prevent the condition, but also to help those with the disease by research into better treatments. Repairing aneurysms better, preventing death from rupture and bleeding. Better ways to restore blocked circulation, preventing amputation - a truly devastating outcome for any patient.
Some of our motto's are :
"Helping to keep the Nations circulation flowing"
"Saving limbs, saving lives"
All this requires resources. I am prepared to jump onto a bicycle that would have been fine 20 years ago, but is less inviting now ! Cycle 240 miles over 3 days, after months of training. Dress in gear that guarantees a man of my age all loss of dignity. All of this to gain the much needed resources for the Circulation Foundation, to help them achieve their goals.
I will need your help, any sponsorship will be much appreciated.
