Unfortunately very little of our taxes are spent on caring for us at the time of our death. Only 12% of the money needed to keep St Wilfrid's running is provided by the NHS. I'm running the London Marathon to raise funds for St Wilfrid's Hospice so that they can continue to provide amazing care to the local population in their final days. I have had the privilege of working with some inspirational professionals at St Wilfrid's in the past and as a GP have seen first hand what a massive difference their expertise and support makes to individuals and their families & friends.

When I'm on my death bed I hope to be looked after with the same level of compassion and dignity that I have seen offered by St Wilfrid's.
