So this summer I will be volunteering on a mission project in Peru with the charity ADRA who focus on delivering relief and development programmes to communities around the world.

Myself and other volunteers will be assisting on an ecological-stove building project in the Andean Highlands of Cusco, Peru.

Around a third of those living in Peru use their low level fireplaces as an oven, causing not only health problems such as respiratory issues, pulmonary diseases, sight deterioration, and stomach infections, but also a risk of uncontrolled fire.

Today, more than ever, it is essential to find effective solutions to extract household smoke in rural Peruvian communities. So, this project will ensure that 29 homes have access to Ecological-Stoves making for a safer living environment.

Now the cost of the project is a massive £2475 which covers project and non projects costs as well as flights and accommodation.

As this is a fundraising initiative I have to raise £1000 by March 1st and an additional £1320 by June 1st.

Guys that gives me just over two weeks to raise £1000!!! 

Now this is were you step in. I need all you lovely people, friends, family, co-workers, pets, even strangers to give whatever you can. I just know with you help it will make this mammoth of a challenge so much more realistic and manageable!

I will be doing other fundraising events and projects during the course of the year but the major push is NOW! Anything really is better than nothing so I’m asking you to dig deep and generously within your hearts and pockets for this amazing project not just for myself, but for the families that will be greatly impacted by this.
