I'm heading off to Volkov near St Petersburg on 2nd August with a team organised by a UK Christian Charity, LoveRussia, to help run a 5 day summer camp for orphans and disabled children at the Filipok Institute. Filipok was one of the first institutes in Russia focused on helping disabled children. Love Russia has been working in Russia since the early 1990s to give practical help to improve the living conditions for orphans. For the past 10 years they've been organising summer camps of dancing, music, crafts and outdoor activities for many children who have been forgotten in the orphanage system. This is the 4th year they've run camps at Filipok, and my 3rd trip. Please do visit LoveRussia's site to find out more of their life-changing work in Russia.
