We work with children and adults to improve communication and swallowing

Story

I have decided to do a walk with family in July to help prepare me for joining the Royal Marines Band in September. I thought it would also be a good opportunity to raise money on behalf of my friend India Wilkinson for a charity close to her heart.

India was in the year below me at school.  She is an amazing and positive young woman with high prospects for the future.

At the beginning of this year Indi discovered she has a Grade 2 Ependymoma. She underwent surgery  to remove the tumour; however, they could not remove it all. Surgery has damaged her brain and left her with some speech and movement difficulties.

Indi has had Proton Beam Therapy in the USA but she will not know whether it has worked for about 6 months.

Throughout all of this, Indi has been remarkably strong and positive.  She is working hard to retain her brain so that she can take her A Levels and go to University to study Chemistry as planned.

Once Indi comes home she will have some treatment at ARCOS which is a local based charity in Malvern which provides rehabilitation for people who have sustained brain injuries.

On behalf of Indi I would like to raise as much money as possible to help support this worthy charity which in turn will support Indi and many others in their recovery.

Thank you for taking the time to read this 💕
