I've been a member of the 100 Black Men of London since 2004 and am proud to now serve as its President.
The 100BMOL does incredible work delivering programmes and activities focused on Mentoring, Education, Economic Empowerment, Health & Wellness and Leadership.
What's even more amazing is that all the work we do in the community is done by volunteers. None of us are employed or paid by the charity (in fact members pay annual membership dues to support the financial costs of the organisation). We have no staff, or offices, which means that pretty much every penny we raise goes directly into our great programmes.
I took up boxing basically because with a bad knee, I could no longer jog, play football or play basketball, so I needed to do something. So a year ago I took up boxing to train to maintain my fitness and I've loved it ever since.
Having just turned 40, it struck me that here was a chance to celebrate my big event, push myself to the limit in my new sport, and raise money for a great organisation.
Please give generously.
Kolarele
President
