Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

For those of you who dont know....

Our beautiful baby girl Anaya Ava was born at 30 weeks +6 days gestation by emergency c section. I couldnt feel her moving on the Thursday and she had been such a little mover and shaker in my womb!

Stu and I went to the womens to get things checked out. In the early hours of Friday morning after being hooked up to a heart monitor and after a few scans we were told that our daughter was severely anemic due to loosing blood somewhere! We were told that Anaya would need a couple of blood transfusions through my womb.

Anaya had the first on friday morning. However when the 2nd one was due, it was too and late the doctors said they needed to get Anaya out asap!

Anaya was born at 5.24pm on the 5th October 2012 weighing 4lb4oz with lots of hair. The docs said she came out white and after 6 minutes they brought her back to life! Anaya had had a Feto Maternal Haemorrhage! Were she had bled into me, her hemagloblin level was 3! it should be 16. This was the lowest the doctor had seen. We were told Anaya's next 24-48 hours were critical as she was very, very poorly.

Our beautiful little girl was tough though and Anaya gave us two weeks to spend time with her, talk to her, cuddle and kiss her, we spent every hour possible at her bedside praying for a miracle. She was a little fighter but due to her loosing blood so quickly her brain was deprived of oxygen and our beautiful baby girl who looked perfect was severely brain damaged and had no gag reflex, so couldnt breath for long on her own. Anaya didnt open her eyes nor could she cry.

Anaya passed away on the 19th October 2012 at 5.24am. Aged 14 days old. Leaving behind her Mummy, Daddy & big sister Amber (11 months old).

The Doctors, Consultants, Neo-natal nurses, Midwives & Hospitality staff were so good with Anaya and us. They cared for her so much and did everything they could possible do for her. They were very supportive and attentive to us.

We decided instead of accepting flowers off everyone for Anaya's Funeral we would like everyone to donate money so we could make a little difference and donate it to the Neo Natal ward at the womens.
