I have decided to participate in this years cardiff half marathon in aid of Faceup Cymru.

The charity focuses on supporting patients through the journey of managing and coming to terms with the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer.

After successful surgery patients must come to terms with the after effects of surgery such as facial disfigurement, loss of speech and problems with swallowing. All of these can have traumatic effects on the patient. Faceup believes that there are three aims to this task:

1- Patients self-help, Confidence building and Coping with disfigurement.

2- Support services, Coping strategies, local support groups.

3- Advice services, Trips, Enabling learning opportunities.
