Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
This is the time of the year when people send me cards and good wishes on Facebook and Twitter and even via good old snail mail!
This year I am asking all those friends and relatives if they can help me raise money for Inquest, a charity which works hard for truth, justice and accountability
for people whose relatives have died in custody.
As many of you know, I have followed closely the struggle for justice for Jimmy Mubenga, the 46-year-old Angolan man who died on board a British Airways plane at Heathrow airport, while he was being forcibly deported from Britain on 12 October 2010.
This year, on 23 January, I will be 47. Jimmy Mubenga never reached his 47th birthday. His family, particularly his brave wife, Adrienne Makenda Kambana, never had the opportunity to celebrate that birthday with him.
I'd therefore love it if you could donate whatever you can to Inquest, which does so much to help families like Jimmy Mubenga's. Indeed, they have done a huge amount of work supporting Adrienne in her struggle to reach the truth. They also do a lot to bring news of deaths in custody to the public arena.
I have over a thousand Facebook friends, and nearly a thousand Twitter followers! If every person donates only £2, just think how much we can raise together?
Many thanks to all of you who have read this!
