You are here because I have asked you to make a donation to Jewish Women's Aid instead of giving me a birthday gift. I am so lucky to have a wonderful and supportive husband in Colin, and I truly have everything I could possibly want.

In the 4 years I have volunteered for Jewish Women's Aid, I have learned of many women for whom that could not be further from the truth. The staff at JWA do a fantastic job supporting Jewish women, and their children, who have experienced abusive relationships.  Raising funds for a small charity like JWA is very hard, particularly because domestic abuse is a subject that can be difficult to talk about, and some may find it hard to believe that it can happen to people like us.

I am part of the JWA education and awareness raising team and speak to young people in schools and at universities about healthy relationships and how to spot the signs of an abusive relationship.  I believe that education is the key to reducing the incidence of domestic abuse in our community.
