Story
I am doing The Three Peaks Challenge on Friday 8th July - Sunday 10th July 2016. Scaling the 3 highest mountains in the UK and achieving this in 24 hours whilst raising lots of money for the Bristol City Community Trust (Hopefully-That's where you come in....!!) :-)
Why am I doing this??!! I am the epitome of suburban living. Every day the same wonderful routine of 'normal' family life. Maybe that's the reason; because it's out of my comfort zone, out of most peoples comfort zones! Maybe it's due to recently turning 30 and wondering what adventures I have had?! Maybe it's to show my 2 girls that you can achieve anything you set your mind to and that you can achieve something that may seem impossible whilst most importantly helping others by raising money for charity. Whilst challenging myself I will be raising money for the community trust of the football club I have loved, praised, shouted at, cried for and defended since the age of 9.
Bristol City Community Trust is a local charity for local people. Making a positive difference for all through sport & learning. They provide safe and enjoyable activities for all ages & abilities. The trust focuses on 4 key goals which are sport participation, social inclusion, health and education and achieve these things through charitable donations.
Donations and support are hugely appreciated and will spur me on at 10pm on the Saturday whilst ascending Ben Nevis (the 2nd mountain of the day!)
Am I confident; yes. Will I still be at 4am on the Sunday morning whilst ready to walk my 3rd mountain in 24 hours; possibly not!! But, I will do it wearing a smile on my face and plasters covering my hidden blisters in my newly purchased walking boots! :-)
Hugs, Laura. xx
