Fundraising for St Raphael's Hospice
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We have both had the unfortunate experience of losing people that we love to cancer. But those that we love had the benefit of being cared for at St Raph's. The care they give not just to their patients but to the families is something to be cherished.
Those patients are treated not only in a caring professional manner, but are treated with dignity in their final days.
St Raphael's hospice relies on donations and therefore the two of us would like to challenge ourselves in a way that we never have before to try to raise as much money as possible.
We aren't fitness freaks, so we have a lot of hard work ahead of us in training for the trip. Anything that people can spare will surely help us to push ourselves further.
We will be in China a year to the day that Rachael got married. She will be spending her first anniversary away from her husband in a bid to raise money for an amazing cause.
Lauren will also have 10 days away from her dog, which will be very difficult for them both :)
As part of the training (and for health reasons obviously) Lauren has given up smoking. An extra reason for you all to donate....?????? we hope so......
We've uploaded a few pictures of the wall, please have a look - it doesn't look easy! there is a nice little picture of us on Rachael's wedding day - to be clear WE didn't marry each other we just felt that the veil suited Lauren a bit better ha ha..!!!
