This is my little friend, Lauren's page. She is 6 years old.

As part of a project on water last year, Lauren was shocked to find out that some children don't have water coming out of a tap in their house like she does. Being a natural problem-solver, she was determined to fix this immediately.

Together with her mum, she looked into ways of helping children get access to clean water. They found out about LifeWater, an initiative to place purification systems in schools, orphanages, hospitals and clinics. Lauren created and delivered her own presentation to the children at her home-education group and her church, asking for donations.

She raised enough money to buy six Static LifeWater Kits at £35 each. Each system provides 150 litres of clean and safe drinking water per day. So that's 900 litres of clean water each day.

But that's not enough for Lauren because there are still children drinking dirty water. She wants to save the whole world and, with the faith and trust of a child, she believes that she can.

So this year, instead of presents for her 7th birthday, Lauren is asking for donations to LifeWater. We're hoping to raise enough money for 10 more kits (a limit imposed by me, not her - she's still hoping to save the world!). So that's £350 in total.
