Her Majesty's diamond jubilee legacy Fund for East Oxford, 1 February 2017
We support Oxfordshire non-profit groups to make life better for local people.

Story

2012 was a significant year in the life of our nation.

First, the national celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee – 60 years of unstinting, self-less and dedicated public service to our country.

Second, the tremendously successful hosting of the Olympic games and how this was a powerful means of generating national unity and pride.

This initiative wants to capture the spirit of these two major events through establishing a Diamond Jubilee Legacy Fund.  This fund will begin life as a pilot with a focus on the communities of East Oxford but progress will be reviewed at the end of its first anniversary and if funds permit the target area of the fund will be expanded to include other communities.

This fund will be administered by the Oxfordshire Community Foundation and is aimed at encouraging voluntary groups to work in collaboration across faiths and cultures;  thereby strengthening community partnerships and delivering support to the most needy and disadvantaged in East Oxford.
