Story
Hi All,
I have somehow managed to qualify for the Great Britain Team at the Sprint Triathlon World Championships in Cozumel in September 2016.
I will be departing England with 6 of my club mates on the 10th September flying to Cancun before transferring to Cozumel in preparation to race on the 15th September 2016.
I am extremely excited to have been given this opportunity and will be training hard in the lead up to the race so that I can give it my all against many other talented triathletes from all over the world and hopefully raise lots of money for my charity West Heath School.
West Heath is an Ofsted Outstanding Independent Special School which supports young people whom have difficulty relating to the social world in which we live. Predominately students have a diagnosis of Asperger’s, High Functioning Autism or have suffered, and may continue to suffer significant trauma.
West Heath’s aim is to support students in meeting the challenges they face in their daily lives; not only in order to meet the demands of the educational environment, yet to allow them to find the emotional wellbeing, self-confidence and happiness which will enable them to be successful throughout their lives.
Proceeds from fundraising go to the bursary, funding individual day and residential placements throughout the child’s time in school.
I'm pleased to say that I am one of many passionate Trustee who volunteer their time to support the school in its outstanding work.
I won't go into too much more detail but please look at the West Heath School web site if you would like to know more information. www.westheathschool.com.
I'll keep you up dated on my training and let you know how the race goes. Please give generously for this worthwhile cause.
Many thanks
Leigh
