Story
Our beautiful baby boy Lentil Bear Evans passed away during labour on the 14/06/2015. We love him dearly and cherish the time that we got to spend with him in the Jasmine delivery suite. Without it and the amazing support of Amanda our midwife and the team at Derriford the experience would have been much worse. We hope that nobody else ever has to go through what we are going through but if they do, we want them to have the same support and care we did and if at all possible, even more.
The Jasmine and Central Delivery Suite at Derriford hospital is being constantly improved by charitable donations in order to provide private spaces where parents of children who pass away during or soon after delivery can grieve and spend time with their precious bundle. They need £200,000 for the Snowdrop Appeal to fully establish the unit and provide this essential support. The Jubilee midwives provide one on one care to parents who would like a home birth or that have suffered from a loss and need extra support from a familiar face.
The money will be given directly to the Plymouth NHS trust to be spent on ensuring the Jasmine and Central Delivery Suite remains available as a safe and peaceful place for grieving parents to spend time with their precious children. They do not get enough time with them and so every minute must be made as special as possible. We would also like to buy some equipment for the Jubilee midwives as without them we would not have been able to cope.
