As you can see from my picture I have done this before!
Last year, after my mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, I ran to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Society. She was also suffering from clear cell carcinoma, a very aggressive form of cancer, from which she passed away. During her illness, my mum was able to stay at home because we have a big family, and it was not until the very end that we needed specialist Macmillan nurses to assist. When we did call on Macmillan, they were fantastic.
I know not everyone has a family the size of mine, and often people do need to go into a hospice for their end of life care. Because of this, and the important work that they do, I have decided this year to run for Overgate Hospice in Elland. You can read more about them here:

This year not only am I trying to beat Joanne, I am also trying to beat Leo because as you know I am a little competitive………
