Meir Panim in Israel

As one of Israel’s largest relief organisations Meir Panim is on the front line in the daily battle against poverty and hunger in Israel, but we rely on the public’s generosity.

 

Over 3,000 devoted volunteers nationwide.

 

Annual budget: $14m  most of our donations (36%) come from within Israel 

  

-       A network of 9 soup kitchens for the needy

-       Providing 340,000 children meals to schools and after school clubs

-       Distributing 12,000 food shopping cards for needy families and Holocaust survivors before the holidays and during the year

-       8 after school clubs attended by 300 children

-       Training courses that help 150 unemployed individuals and youth at-risk return to the circle of employment each year

-       11 years in operation

-      We focus on delivering practical solutions as effectively as possible, with overheads kept low so maximum benefit can be transferred to those in need.

Raises awareness and support for the organisation's work in Israel (events /campaigns).

 

Operating since September 2008.

 

Administration costs kept very low (less than 10%), no office costs.
