Story
I am climbing the equivalent height of Mount Everest by Munro.
A Munro is a Scottish mountain with a height over 3,000 feet (910m). Mount Everest has a height of 29,029 feet (8,848m). I have calculated that I need to climb 12 Munros to complete the challenge, starting with Ben Lomond and finishing with Ben Nevis. I aim to complete this challenge by 11th September 2016.
I am raising money to support an orphanage project in Nepal I visited in April 2015 and March 2016. The 2015 Nepal earthquake stopped construction for a number of months and also had an impact on the money being raised to pay for materials and labour.
The main purpose of my visit to Nepal in March 2016 was to see how the project was coming along and to lend a hand, which mainly consisted of painting, digging and mixing cement. I also had the opportunity to see what still needed to be done and the costs involved.
I aim to raise at least £1,000 to help get the orphanage completed.
There is no state funded support for children and families in Nepal if children are orphaned or abandoned. The Charity's aim is to provide children with a safe environment where they can live and go to school, hopefully providing them with a better future than they were facing.
Any help you can give me will make a difference to the lives of these children in Nepal.
Thank you.
