Story
My daughter Ella was ten years old when she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare cancer of the bone. Unfortunately it had already spread to her lungs and she died peacefully at home 3 months after diagnosis. During the time we were looked after by the LRI Children,s Cancer Unit we got great support, however our experience was more distressing because the unit was over crowded and lacked privacy and family/ child friendly facilities. We were keen to help support the unit,s fund raising goals to improve conditions for children, teenagers and their families. Our Friends, family and associates have all supported this our fund raising since 2009, by undertaking physical challenges, giving time, donating gifts and auction promises, taking part in events. In addition to the amount raised for Leicester Royal Infirmary Our Space Appeal, we have also raised over £34,000 for The Bone Cancer Research Trust.
