Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

From the 24th of June until the 1st of July I will be wearing a sleep shade and will be "Blind" for the entire duration of my challenge (yes -24 hours a day!). I will be attempting to live my life as I usually would, this will include my full time job as the Music Teacher at Linden Lodge School (as well as everything else..).

I am doing this in order to raise funds to equip our Schools Music Room with new instruments and technology to aid our students continued development and experience within the music room. All the students at Linden Lodge School are visually impaired and I thought this would be a very fitting way to raise money. I have been given professional training in "Long Cane Skills" by our Mobility department, this has helped me to become more confident in traveling to and from school. Some of the students have also been helping me by assisting me around the school site.

I have worked at Linden Lodge for over 6 years and it has been a joy to see our students develop in all areas of their life, I have been very lucky in working with every student and staff member throughout the school. Linden Lodge is a school for children and young people aged 2 - 19 years, for children who are visually impaired and multi-disabled visually impaired, with additional complex needs. A large number of our students are highly motivated by music and having additional resources will encourage increased engagement, attainment and enjoyment within the music room.
