The reason for these ongoing charity events is one of my very close friends son was just aged 4 when he was diagnosed with a Rhabdoid Tumor which is a rare form of childrens cancer.

The hospital only took his mum seriously when they found fluid on his right lung and a complete colapse of his left, they said he had pneumonia and that they would put a chest drain in and treat with antibiotics. 2 Days after being in hospital an oncology doctor spoke to his mum to say they thought the fluid was off a tumor. He started chemo 9th September 2011, which shrunk the 1 big tumor and then in January 2012 he had surgery,  they were only able to take out 98% which left some round his aorta and the rest round his spinal column we all knew the tumor would still grow but hoped radiotherapy would kill off the 2%.

We were then told on 10th February 2012 Riley was terminal,  they offered 2 weeks of radiotherapy at christies in the highest dose to help buy us some time. This bought us 15 more weeks to enable us to fill it full of magical memories.

3 weeks before he passed away we found out he had secondary tumors all over his chest, lungs and stomach.

He was then taken to Francis House in didsbury where his mum watched him take his final peacefull breaths.

Riley was such a little character who adored skylanders, he loved and looked up to his sister Nina. He never once complained queried or said why me he just got on with it and is an inspiration to all his family and friends. He sadly passed away 25th May 2012.

We have been fundraising ever since to help make wishes come true for other children and families.

These momories are completely priceless and wishes can't be granted without the help from people like you and me.

This amazing charity made Riley's final wish come true and sent him to Disneyland Paris they have been truly amazing and have given the whole family very precious memories and support.

When You Wish Upon A Star are a small charity (No 1060963) based in Stockport whose primary aim is to grant the wishes of children suffering from life threatening illnesses and since they started in 1990, they have granted over 14,500 Wishes for some very brave and courageous children and their families.
