Story
So those of you who know me, know that i am far from being a runner, so this might be a surprise to you to hear that i am taking on a Half Marathon! You will also know that last August, my Mum Caroline was incredibly lucky to survive a Subarachnoid Brain Haemorrhage. The team in The Richmond ICU & Richmond Ward at Beaumont Hospital saved her life, and showed extreme compassion and support to me and my family during the difficult time that we were there.
There is a whole world going on inside this hospital, a world that you don't even know exists, until you're thrown into it without any warning. When dealing with a crisis like the one we were going through, it is the people around you everyday, looking after your loved one, that make all the difference. It is thanks to the team of nurses and doctors that my Mum is still here with me, and their care and hard work is something that we as a family will never forget.
I will never be able to fully repay them for what they did, but i can show some of my thanks by taking on a challenge like this, and raising some money at the same time.
If you are able to support, even just a little bit, i will be extremely grateful. THANK YOU! xx
