Story
Ey up, thanks for taking the time to read about my upcoming adventure!
I'm off to Nepal on the 1st April to volunteer for 2 months for Animal Nepal, an animal welfare charity based in Kathmandu. I will be working full time 5 days a week with some weekend dog walking and events. I will be volunteering my time for free and have funded the whole trip myself. None of the money raised via this page will go to any travel costs or activities. Every single penny will go to Animal Nepal and the wonderful work they do (via Mayhew International who support and help fund Animal Nepal projects). Please help me take some funds to help this amazing organisation!
While there, I will be organising events, writing reports and proposals, editing documents and fundraising, as well as some hands on animal work.
I also promise to do at least one 5 day trek so you can all definitely get your donation money's worth! Those of you who know me well will know this in itself is worth a small donation! I promise you blood (hopefully not), sweat (definitely), and tears (probably)....so dig deep!
Animal Nepal is run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers, who are both local and overseas animal welfare campaigners and educators. They have 3 outreach programmes focusing on street dogs, working horses and donkeys, and working elephants. Animal Nepal has 3 rehabilitation centres and is well known for it's national campaigns in the awareness of working animals, livestock, transport and slaughter, elephant abuse, dog poisoning, humane zoo conditions and urban greenery. Find out more about Animal Nepal here.
Here's an idea of how your money can help:
£5: Can buy worming treatment or a simple vaccination for one dog.
£10: Can pay for education materials for a school awareness project in the community.
£20: Can provide family planning and anti-rabies vaccination to one dog or can feed a sick or injured dog for a month.
£50: Can rehabilitate two sick or injured dogs
£100: Feed and treat an injured donkey for 2 months.
