Story
As many of my close friends and family already know I was personally diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumour in September 2012 after suffering from severe headaches. I have received some amazing support from people around me which has helped me to stay strong and have a positive outlook. Whilst this is the case for me some people are not so lucky but with the right support and resources people can receive the right care which is essential to live a normal and healthy lifestyle.
There are over 120 types of brain tumour – glioblastoma (GBM4), meningioma, astrocytoma and glioma are just a few of the names. In some cases brain surgery is necessary in others it may just be a question of watch and wait. Headaches, seizures, loss of hearing, speech difficulties, loss or disturbance of vision, weakness and loss of sensation or numbness are just some of the symptoms an individual person may suffer!
For now I am on a watch and wait and long may this continue!!
