Story
Last year (2015) I took up cycling & with a friend I took part in my first cycling event in September. We cycled 50Km with not much training and really enjoyed it. This year I want to take it to a whole other level and challenge myself to do something that will be REALLY difficult!
My aim is to cycle the equivalent of London to Lisbon which is 1353.8 miles throughout the year of 2016. That will include miles I do locally, during events and on my turbo trainer at home (should the weather be too dangerous to go out.)
Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of meeting a really lovely man, Stephen Wood who wanted to marry the love of his life Emma.
The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation helped to make their wedding dreams happen in September.
Unfortunately Stephen lost his battle with cancer just 2 months later.
So I've decided that this challenge will be in memory of him to spur me on and to keep Stephen's name well and truly alive.
As you know this is going to be difficult for me. With a tumour in my pelvis the size of an egg, previous back breaks, weakened bones, a current broken foot and with me being on a cocktail of medication, you would be wise to think I couldn't do this. However I know what it means for these couples to marry as Graham and I were helped to marry just like them back in 2012, and with me going into my 6th year with a stable cancer I would be stupid to not think that this could easily be my last year. So with that in my mind there is no way that my cancer will dictate what I can and cannot do!
If you could spare just £1 to support my personal adventure I would be so grateful and so would the couple/s that this money will go on to help.
Thank You.
