Story
A couple of years ago, some friends and I took part in the Colour Run and The Suffering obstacle course in order to raise money for LOROS. We managed to raise an astonishing £2172 in the process, but this year we want to go bigger and better.
I am delighted (petrified) to announce that George Riggall, Tom Wisniewski, Toby Batham, Conor Pallatt, John Collins, Dan O'Brien, Charlie Collins, Ryan Brown, Sam Rossi, Gary Cope, Joe Quailey and myself will be attempting to cycle from Leicester to Paris on August 17th this year (NOT the 18th as stated at the top of the page).
We will set off from Frydales chip shop on Hinckley Road and cycle approximately 400 miles to the Eiffel Tower, where we hope we will arrive in one piece on Saturday August 20th. We will be assisted by a support vehicle driven by Rich Ball who will be accompanied by Cameron Pallatt who unfortunately cannot do the ride due to injury.
Our inspiration for our last fundraiser was for my mother, Paula Virk, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2014. This was after she received the all clear from the illness in 2012, after initially being diagnosed in 2006.
Paula Virk passed away on the 25th March 2016 after a long battle with cancer. I'm so proud of how long she fought and glad that she's now at peace. Leicester to Paris was meant to be a trip where she would meet us at the finish line, now she'll be watching us all the way.
Our aim is to raise a lot more than we did in our last fundraiser and we our thankful to any donations that you can give us. It would mean the world to us if we could help the lives of just one family. We are also open to any businesses willing to sponsor our journey.
One final word from us, can you please spread the news of our event, and get your friends and family to donate on the website or to text LCTP99 followed by the amount (£1-£10) to 70070!
