Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Charlotte Power and I am 13 years old. I have decided to cut off my long hair on November 22nd 2014 in support of a special charity which is raising funds to build a respite home in Scotland for children with cancer and their families.

I would be really grateful if you could sponsor me by making a donation to the Eilidh Brown MemorialFund www.eilidhbrown.co.uk, a charity set up by the family of Eilidh Brown who died of germ cell cancer in 2010 just days before her 16th birthday.

Her family set up the charity to make Eilidh's wish come true - to build a respite home near Stirling to give children with cancer a special place to spend precious time with their families. The charity has been working hard to raise enough to make Eilidh's dream a reality - they have got a building plot and planning permission but they still need a lot more money to build the house, equip it and run it - so every single penny counts.

On Saturday November 22nd, my local hairdresser Natalie of U-Concept salon in Glasgow will cut off 12 inches of my hair. I have chosen to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust www.littleprincesses.org.uk, a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. That way, two cancer charities can benefit.

One in 500 children in the UK will develop some form of cancer before they are 14 years old. I will turn 14 on December 23rd this year and I decided to cut off my long hair as a small thing I can do to help make a difference to young people affected by cancer.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
