Story
This is the new 'Fundraising Page for Daisy & DIPG Brain Cancer Research':
On
the 3rd of May 2014 the Brooks family received devastating news, their
beautiful 6 year old daughter Daisy was diagnosed with an incurable DIPG
brain tumour.
Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is a rare
and aggressive brain stem cancer that has a very low survival rate.
Brain Cancer research only receives 1% of national research funding.
Daisy
travelled to Bristol in July for ground breaking brain surgery where Dr
Steven Gill and his pioneering team have been studying brain cancer for
10 years. Daisy had 3 rounds of chemotherapy and the research team are learning a lot for the future. Daisy lost her battle in November but the fight goes on to find a cure. New drugs are due to come on line soon and all donations go direct to this team who are making huge
steps towards a cure for all DIPG children. The
results will also have an impact on other cancer treatments in the
future due to the unique techniques they have developed.
Money raised is already being used by the team and has enabled them to take on 3 more research specialists and accelerate drug delivery.
Further activities are planned so please keep donating so one day very soon children can be cured of DIPG.
This page total also includes money raised from pin badge and wrist band sales.

you can donate on this page, feel free to join the team and raise what
