Story
2016 has seen Mum fighting against Cancer for the past 10 years. I am thankful everyday that she never gives up, and has battled through some extremely tough times. She has endured 45 rounds of chemotherapy, numerous stays in hospital and many other challenges along the way, but despite this she faces each day with a smile and tremendous positivity. I never knew bravery until I saw it in my Mum, she is an inspiration to us all and to so many others.
My challenge was to try to experience just a tiny bit of the pain and hard work that Mum faces each day. So, I decided that the London Marathon would be a good challenge, as this will be my first ever (and probably last) marathon. Through my training I have run three 10km races, two half marathons and then face my biggest hurdle yet… London!
Mum and Dad have experienced some wonderful care and support from Arthur Rank Hospice. It is a hospice dedicated to providing specialist palliative care and support to patients and their families, helping everyone to make the most of the time that remains. Their mantra ‘making every second count’ has been my driving force and I hope you will be able to help me support Mum’s chosen charity as I take on the massive 26.2 miles in London on April 24th where I will be making every stride count!
Thank you for your support.
