Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself, my husband and hopefully as many of our family and friends as poss are doing the Glasgow Color run on Sunday 17th July 2016 in memory of our beautiful daughter Cora who suddenly got taken from us on 29th December 2015, only age 3 having what we were told was just a simple virus, she fell asleep in my arms and became an angel. Since that day our world crumbled and has been turned upside down.
Bereaved parents have been thrown into a club they never wanted to join, never dreamed they'd have to join, and they have a lifetime membership that they never wanted. When child loss occurs, the life we once knew is turned upside down and is changed forever in a split second -- the moment That child left. Others long to have the person back that we once were. We wish so much that we could be that person. But, the truth is we are changed. We view all of life differently. We now see things through a lens of tears and brokenness. We need friends who will accept us as we are and help us to learn how to live within our brokenness! This journey called child loss is hard, and we need love, encouragement, and lots of understanding along the way!
That is why We are doing this for Brightest Star because this charity is so close to our heart's as Arlene who set it up to support bereaved parents/families as she sadly lost her beautiful boy Jack in 2012 only aged 5 to similar circumstances and had no support herself. Not only is the charity a place where people like myself and my husband don't feel alone anymore, we now have support of people sadly know exactly how we feel, I have made a life long friend and we can go through this terrible journey together. The Color run is a perfect event for all the family to do as it is fun and colourful and I know Cora, Jack and all the other children taken too soon would have loved this.
