As a family, we are taking part in Hell & Back - Ireland's toughest physical and mental endurance challenge, with the hope of raising as much funds and awareness as possible for the Huntington's Disease Association of Ireland.

Huntington's disease is a genetic disease that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It has a broad impact on a person's functional abilities and usually results in movement, thinking and psychiatric disorders.

As a family, we have watched our Dad suffer with this cruel, debilitating
illness and live in fear that one day we too will inherit this horrible disease. Unfortunately the disease is so rare in Ireland that we too are only learning and don't know what tomorrow may bring for Dad. What we do know is that there is no cure at present, and probably won't be in his lifetime. Hopefully someday soon, there will be better knowledge and understanding of this disease and a cure will be found. We hope by committing to this challenge that your donations will contribute to making this possible.
